Oh The Light, Oh The Dark...
... Oh The, Well The Dark, actually. Anyone that gets that oblique reference and lets me know by whatever means, will get the Luxe Harpo & The Wunderkind Obscure References Award for September 2022: basically nowt but the warm glow that you know something that 90%+ of the population don't...
The rag pictured was stuffed under my windscreen wiper while we were having lunch at The Royal Oak, Betws Y Coed this afternoon: in my case a pint of Gold from Conwy breweries and a nice Welsh Rarebit, served with a lot of unneccesary stuff: coleslaw and crisps, anyone? I think I've mentioned this organ before in passing, but this issue seems to crystallize the essence of the conspiracy-theorist mentality.
Just about every article in this dubious periodical is straightforwardly contrarian, and not in a good way. The headlines and subs carry the basic flavour of it all: 'Covid shots alter DNA', 'Earth is cooling, not warming', 'Energy policy should pull away from renewables [sub]', '"Has man been to the moon?"' [centre spread of crackpot nonsense: including some complete tosh about photography, of which I have some knowledge and which I will return to at some point], 'No such thing as sexually transmitted disease', which somehow, bizarrely, seems to deny the existence of the pathogens that have killed countless people over the centuries including Henry VIII, and - I'll leave it at this, because in 28 pages of newsprint, there is so much bullshit and disinformation, it makes social media look sane.
The most appalling crap is encapsulated in a pair of paragraphs in 'Looking behind the curtain of virology', which basically asserts that bugs don't exist, folks: it's all down to vitamin deficiencies, poor sanitation and toxins. I quote: '...by the time the vaccine to fight the so-called measles particles [sic] was introduced, improvements in hygiene had already lowered the death-rate to nearly zero.' Really? Excuse the fuck out of me for being blunt, but my sister nearly died from measles when we were kids, and deafness and disability were a common outcome of this horrible disease, against which we vaccinated our son.
The second and possibly most heinously false assertion is the claim that 'The vaccine for smallpox was also useless and many were killed by it...'. OK - so we didn't eradicate smallpox? Really, there are no words for these semi-educated paranoiacs and their poisonous cant. The fact that some of them see fit and can find the money to produce print versions of their bilious and spurious outpourings is a tad worrying, as the only demographic they can be aiming for is my generation. Not this family... By the way, the back page of this arse-wipe is a full-page ad for David Icke's latest tome: I rest my case M'Lud.
The Dark, The Light, The Day perchance mate?
