Just Plain Wrong...

Despite all evidence to the contrary, our gloriously imperious and unfortunately, totally inept, government, are dead set on the ludicrous course of allowing fracking in the UK. Jacob Ree-Smug as Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy of the United Kingdom, has firmly nailed his colours to the mast of his crumbling three-mast-er in what would seem to be a perfectly blatant example of self-interest.

The Minister for the Eighteenth Century obviously has a pecuniary motive when it comes to this issue: I ain't found it yet, but I'm sure Private Eye, et al. are on the case with this one. But the thing that sticks in my craw, is his attitude in Parliament: his self-opinionated, self-centred, entitled, condescending and frankly, rude approach to anyone who dares naysay him: but I guess that being offensive is OK if you're a toff [classist slur most definitely intended].

It's instructive to note that a company (or rather nest of companies) co-founded by this odious and despicable individual - for a gentleman he most certainly is not - Somerset Capital Management, is in the process of being sold, due to the impending departure of its other founding partner, Dominic Johnson, the current CEO, who is seeking a political career. The company's profits tanked by 34% last year - good job done by all, then - but the kicker is that all the sleeping partners, as well as Johnson - including Ree-Smug - will walk away with about half of the firm's equity between them.

The connection between these greedy buggers? The Tory Party, c'est naturellement. I'm so tired of these people and the danger they represent to the rest of us, I'll reiterate the words of my wise and sage friend David: "...can you understand fookin' w'kin class Tories?" My answer then is the same now: No, I can't. And the sooner the people who voted this world-class bunch of chancers and crooks into power realize their mistake, the better for all of us.

  1. The longer the title the bigger the PRATT; goes for departments as well as people!
I must take exception to the pairing of this odious excuse for a human being and a sailing ship which are THE most efficient means of transport and exploration that man has come up with, I should know I used to captain a 56ft ketch and........
