Tilting at windmills: such a convenient and dismissive phrase, as if obstacles were intended to be intransigent, ineffable and irremovable. Take the windmill of race, take the windmill of women's rights, take the windmill of LGBT+ rights, universal suffrage, free medical care and so many more that have fallen to dogged persistence, personal risk and sacrifice.

Now take the windmill of workers' rights: where we had thought that one tilted once and for all, the rights of workers have largely been subsumed by the default 'right' of the neo-establishment to do with people and their lives as they will, counter to all  existing & long-established legal and moral frameworks.

For inept managers to attempt to 'explain' the innumerable instances of Health & Safety breaches in public services and private companies with a trite 'It's because of Covid' when those very breaches are breaches of Covid regulations themselves, is bullshit fostered by a management culture derived from the now pretty much discredited Harvard MBA business model that has held the world in its heinous grip since the early 1980's.

Unfortunately, the message that this is not an effective modus operandi for running a bloody dog kennels, let alone the world, still seems to be lost on the slow-witted and lazy management culture that runs this benighted country and much else of the First World. The status quo is nothing of the sort. There are laws, statutes and regulations that apply to us all and we need to stamp on the idiots, the little Hitlers, the inappropriately promoted and the frankly sociopathic and shame them all publicly for exactly what they are, and moreover, bring them to legal book for their transgressive behaviour. Enough, frankly, is enough.
