Solstice

The seasons' turn is with us yet again as the year pivots towards Spring and the slow slipping back of Winter gives way to hope for the New Year. Given the events that have taken the world by the scruff of the neck over the past twelve-month, hope is a touchstone to cleave to and exercise whatever faith you've got if you hold to one.

Personally I'm content in the knowledge that the Earth's cycle will continue, despite us and out-with our philosophies: '...turn[ing] with disinterested hard energy, like the stars...'*

*to paraphrase Thom Gunn: 'My Sad Captains'
