She Sells Sanctuary

I thought I'd share a poem by someone I've only recently discovered: T. Llewelyn Williams, who was born in Hirael, Bangor. I've no idea if he's still alive, as I can't find anything online about him, so I can only go on the volume of his work that I found in Bangor - he was certainly still around in 2008. Apparently he was popular in the States, so here's a piece set there:

Listening and Looking

In Huntington Ravine, New Hampshire, 30 September 1978

What a day that was by the river
That called all time to itself
And beckoned us to dreams.

What reallocation of senses
Was given birth -
You seeing
sounds by the deep green rock,

And I,
hard by the pool below,
hearing the colours of the earth.
